Our 50 state adventure to celebrate our 50th birthdays

City of Rocks is like no place we’ve ever seen

This place was incredible! The rocks rise out of the desert of New Mexico all in one area. We loved this campground. It’s a place you never want to leave because there is so much to explore and so many trails and neat formations. And no rules and no keeping off the rocks. Our kids would’ve loved this place. How come we’ve never heard of it before?

A massive fire about 20 miles north.

There are endless rock formations to climb and run around in.

The entire campground from a nearby overlook. Many of the camp sites were among the rocks or right next to them. Since our site had electric, we’re in the group in front of the rocks.

The gate that wasn’t the gate.

An evening hike to Table Mountain.

A quick view from the top. We literally had to run to get back to that campsite before sundown.

Our first time trying our new rockers.
