Yes, that’s Kristi. And a dog. A big dog. We went dog sledding and they encouraged us to interact with the dogs and so we did. For those of you who remember Kristi as being scared of dogs, well, our dog Andy has changed her. Andy now lives with Jerry’s brother, David, but lived with us for 4 years. These dogs were very excited to see everyone and were fun to play with.

The dogs were on leashes in rows next to little houses. We had several minutes to interact and play with them while the handlers came and hooked them to the line to pull the sleds.

Most of the dogs were very excited and ready to run. Some were a little more subdued. I wanted to include plenty of evidence that Kristi played with them so you wouldn’t think it was photoshopped.

Each sled could hold 3 people. Here, Chris is sitting in the front in the gray jacket. The driver will stand on the runners right behind him and one more person can stand on the runners in the back.

And we’re off! This is the view from the spot behind the driver. He had a foot brake that he could step on to control the speed. The back spot also had a brake. If he had to stop and step off, he would ask the person there to stand on it and not let up – or the dogs would take off when they felt it release.

This is the view from the front of the sled. The tracks we ran had these deep walls of snow on the sides. In fact, as we drove to the place, we noticed a remarkable increase in the amount of snow from the cities around. You can see how much is clinging to the trees around us.

When we got back, we spent some time showing the dogs some love and thanks for the ride.
